The Impact of Telemedicine on America’s Healthcare System

One of the largest changes in the healthcare space brought about by new technologies has been the movement toward electronic health records (EHRs), which have enabled more patient engagement, the creation of accountable care organizations (ACOs) and more collaborative care for patients, as well as reductions in unnecessary and redundant testing.

Another truly innovative technology in the healthcare industry is collaborative video. The use of video for telemedicine and telehealth programs is increasing access to care, expediting deliver of care and improving patient outcomes. Collaborative video accomplishes this by effectively eliminating the distance between patient and healthcare provider and making it faster and easier for patients to engage with healthcare professionals at any time and from anywhere.
